Centrally situated within the city is New Zealand's only purpose-built convention centre. The halls of the new Christchurch Convention Centre comprise over 1,864 square metres of pillarless and carpeted flat floor space.
The design incorporates a glass-fronted foyer, main hall with 8m high ceiling and capacity to seat 2,200 delegates theatre style or 1,350 at a gala dinner.
The Christchurch Convention Centre is connected to the Town Hall performing arts and cultural complex by a pedestrian airbridge.
